Oftentimes we get pieces that have a ton of potential but feel as if they just needed one or two more revisions. We notice this particularly in those stories where the endings aren't quite right. If you feel as if you have something special, you likely do. But that does not mean you should send it out after the first draft. Put it away for a while then come back to it with a fresh perspective. If you still think it's ready, then send it on.
